Purple + Red = Royal
I have been obsessed with the purple and red color combo lately, and apparently I’m not the only one! This trend was started years ago with Princess Diana who wore purple and red together on at least two occasions. And just recently, Meghan Markle stepped out in a purple and red ensemble. (See photos below!)
Purple and red can be tricky to pair sometimes, but when done right, you get a really beautiful and unique look that walks the line of standing out while still looking super sophisticated and dare I say, royal?
For this look, I went with a bright red top and a darker purple skirt. Since I wanted to be able to wear this outfit to work, I kept the purple a bit darker and paired with a set of nude pumps.
I tend to wear more muted colors at work, so this outfit is a nice break from that. Also, I know the holidays are long gone by now, but I also think this would be a great look for holiday parties, because it’s a unique way to look festive that’s not the typical red, black and green color scheme.
The skirt I’m wearing is from the brand Halogen. It has since sold out :( but I found several similar options below, including a darker purple skirt from Ann Taylor that would be perfect for those of you that aren’t ready to take the plunge with a brighter purple yet.
