Holiday Dresses from Nora Gardner That Take You From Desk to Dinner
I am excited to introduce you all today to a new designer that I have partnered with, named Nora Gardner, who is based in New York. She designs beautiful, classic clothing that has a modern twist, and is perfect for today’s working women that need high-quality, flawless pieces to round out a work wardrobe.
And don’t just take my word for it. Her signature dresses are worn by news anchors all over the United States! (See here, here, and here). I have written before about the necessity of having a “news anchor” look as part of your work wardrobe—even if you’re not a news anchor! Nora has mastered the bold, clean and classic styles that are essential to pull off this look (read more about the “news anchor” look here in my 3 “must have” looks for the office).
So, let’s get to this dress. I have been looking for the perfect red dress for a LONG TIME. I wanted something that wasn’t too outlandish for work, but also not just a basic shift dress. Since it’s red, I also wanted it to be something that I could wear for dressier occasions as well, especially around the holiday season (such as holiday parties!). And this dress is perfect for all of the above!
This dress features ¾ length sleeves, with a high-low, ruffle hem, which helps create an hourglass shape. Nora Gardner uses high quality fabrics because she knows that the women who wear her clothes are going to be wearing them all day. So they need to stand up to long wear and still look amazing. The fabric of this dress is wrinkle-resistant. So it won’t look all rumpled if you’re sitting down all day and then suddenly need to go to a standing function. I wore this dress at work all day, and was sitting down. By the end of the day, it still looked absolutely perfect with not a wrinkle in sight. The neckline has a keyhole, which adds some visual interest, but it doesn’t go too low, so you don’t have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction (I personally dislike when otherwise conservative dresses, have really low keyhole necklines, which then ruin your ability to wear to them to work).
If you’re not a red person, this dress also comes black. Which is also stunning!
Another thing that I like about this dress is that it is suited to wear all year long. It looks beautiful on its own for spring/summer and fall and then in the winter, it will pair nicely with black stockings or tights. At the same time, if black isn’t our thing, this would also look very sophisticated with a nude pump as well—and a white peacoat!
I hope that you all have the chance to check out Nora Gardner. I am very excited to follow her and try out her future designs. I have linked this dress in both red and black below, along with some of my other NG picks that are perfect for work and the holidays!
