4 Ways To Channel Meghan Markle's Style for Your Office Wardrobe

I don’t know about you guys, but I am so obsessed with Meghan’s style. She always has such beautiful looks, and the great thing is, a lot of the techniques she uses are super easy to replicate. Also, due to the conservative nature of her outfits, these techniques translate perfectly for use in an every day office wardrobe. Below, I’ve identified 4 techniques Meghan uses that you can also use to create your outfits for work. At the bottom of this post, I’ve linked to some of my favorite “Meghan Inspired” items that you can add to your wardrobe to achieve her look.

#1: Embrace Contrasting Neutrals

It’s obvious that Meghan wears a lot of neutrals. But what’s not so obvious is how she uses contrasting neutrals to create her looks. For example, she will often use a black belt around her waist to add contrast to a solid, light colored dress. Or she will add a light neutral coat over top of a dark suit or dress. What I love about this technique is that the contrast adds definition to the outfit and makes it stand out a bit more. Also, mixing neutrals will allow you to get more frequent use out of some the basic items you already own to create stunning looks fit for a princess! See some examples below:

#2: Navy Midi Dresses

Meghan frequently wears navy, most often in a solid colored dress that hits somewhere below the knees. To channel Meghan’s style in navy dresses, think clean lines, minimal frills, and a conservative, high neckline. Pair it with a classic neutral colored pump and you’re all set!

#3: Head-to-Toe Black

Meghan is bringing back the black pant suit and for good reason! Wearing all black is an easy way to look sleek and stylish. To add interest, don’t be afraid to mix fabrics, such as a silk top, a leather pencil skirt, velvet accents, suede shoes, or sheer sleeves with a conservative neckline. Meghan utilizes the mixing of fabrics in her all black looks and it looks stunning!

#4: Selective Pops of Color

Meghan is very deliberate with her use of color. She often doesn’t wear super colorful outfits, and I think some of her best looks have been when she pairs one pop of color with a set of neutrals, such as a jewel toned skirt, or a bright blue coat. Adding one solid pop of color is a great way to add interest to your outfit, yet still maintain a conservative and clean look.
